Bangladeshi Actor Shamim Hasan Sarkar has announced a new decision regarding his work. He has revealed that he is bidding farewell to dramas with names like ‘Jamai’, ‘Bou’, ‘Beai’, ‘Beain’, ‘Probashi’, ‘Nibashi’, ‘Vashur’, ‘Shoshur’, ‘Pashur’. This versatile actor expressed his desire to start the new year in a new way.
In a strange name dramas are being broadcast on YouTube and Facebook. The leader of ‘Mango Squad’ stated that he will not work in any dramas if they lack a good story or execution, otherwise, he won’t shoot. Money in his pocket doesn’t matter much. If necessary, he’ll change jobs, but he wants to maintain peace of mind. He hopes his audience will continue to support him as they always have.
After completing his MSC in Civil Engineering and leaving his job, Shamim Hasan Sarkar became a YouTuber. From there, he ventured into acting and is now a full-fledged actor. He has become a busy actor in the small screen industry, portraying various characters. Although he started as a ‘Character Artist’, gradually he became a ‘Central Character’ actor.
After becoming a television actor from a YouTuber, Shamim realized that, contrary to popular belief, most of the time, television actors have more views than YouTubers. He commented that Facebook clips and views are destroying the culture of dramas. He pledged not to cause further damage.
Shamim Hasan Sarkar has been associated with acting for the past 8 years. He told Channel I Online that there was no concept of Facebook clips initially. Since he has been involved in acting for so long, he can understand the catastrophe caused by these clips. Due to these clips, the names are becoming cheaper, and scripts are starting to suffer. Now everyone who became a TV actor from a YouTuber is laughing at how much money they have made from the views of the clips. So, if you can make money through TV, why work on YouTube? Becoming a YouTuber is enough!
Regarding making dramas targeting contemporary YouTube or Facebook culture, Shamim Hasan Sarkar said, “The journey from start to finish of a story has now disappeared. Our artists don’t always have the power. Many times, sponsors and directors name us without discussing, but in the end, viewers think we are getting cheaper. Are we really being exploited, or are we becoming cheaper?”
“We understand this, but most viewers don’t. Whether someone thinks or not, I am no longer part of the race for views. What I used to do before, I am ready to do now. I’m telling the truth, whether the work is less, the money is less, as long as it doesn’t involve any wrongdoing, that’s what I want.” – Shamim Hasan Sarkar said.
